Zirconium Oxide, with the chemical formula ZrO2, is the primary oxide of zirconium. It is a white, odorless, and tasteless crystal under normal conditions, and is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid, and dilute sulfuric acid. Its chemically inactive nature, coupled with high melting point, high resistivity, high refractive index, and low thermal expansion coefficient, makes it an important material for high-temperature applications, ceramic insulators, and ceramic opacifiers. It is also a primary raw material for synthetic diamonds.

Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) is a versatile synthetic raw material widely used in the production of zirconium metals, zirconium compounds, refractory materials (such as zirconium bricks, zirconium tubes, and crucibles), high-frequency ceramics, abrasives, ceramic pigments, zirconates, and more. Its high melting point, corrosion resistance, and antioxidant properties make it a top-tier refractory fiber material and it can be used in thermal barrier coatings for gas turbines to enhance efficiency. Additionally, zirconia is utilized in the manufacture of piezoelectric ceramics, daily-use ceramics, optical glass, zirconia fibers, as well as products such as incandescent gas mantles, enamel, and white glass. It also plays a significant role in fields such as X-ray radiography, abrasives, and infrared spectroscopes.
